FLORAL BEAUTIFICATION PROGRAM

Floral Beautification Program for the Village of St. Jacobs in partnership with St. Jacobs Country Gardens

Program Overview

This spring, the St. Jacobs BIA is once again offering our members a wonderful opportunity to enhance the beauty of your business with vibrant flowers and plants.

By signing up for one of our program options, the BIA will cover all watering and maintenance costs for your planters throughout the spring and summer months (valued at $350 per business).

To participate, all flowers and plants must be purchased through St. Jacobs Country Gardens.

Simply complete the sign-up form below to be added to the BIA maintenance list. Once we receive your submission, we’ll send you the contract along with the contact details for St. Jacobs Country Gardens.

Eligibility

This program is available only to the village merchants, owners and tenants of buildings used for commercial purposes located within The Village of St Jacobs BIA boundaries.

How It Works

Business owners have 2 options. Both Options require the business owner to sign the seasonal contract which will be sent to you upon completion of the form below.

IMPORTANT: To participate in the program, you must first sign up first using the BIA’s online form below. Once you’ve registered, we’ll promptly send you the contract and all relevant contact details. The BIA is unable to cover any costs or include businesses in the program if the online form isn’t first completed.

Option A – DIY for the “Do It Yourself-er”

Sign up below to indicate you would like to be part of the St. Jacobs Flower Program, Option A. The BIA will add you to the maintenance list and a contract will be sent to you to bring to St. Jacobs Country Gardens.

Purchase your annual flowers from STJCG. At the cash register, please inform the employee that you are a part of the St. Jacobs BIA Floral Beautification Program and have your contract signed. You will then plant your flowers in front of your business in your own pots. STJCG maintains the flowers throughout the growing season free of charge to you, the business owner. Once the plants have been hit by a hard frost, clean out your pots.

This program only covers the Spring/Summer planting and maintenance. Fall planters will be your responsibility. St. Jacobs Country Gardens has a nice selection of fall planting options and they can give you tips on caring for your fall plants to keep them looking beautiful right up until winter if you so choose.

Cost to the business owner for Option A:

Price of your flowers/products that you purchase from STJCG.

Option B – Leave it all to the Experts!

Sign up below to indicate you would like to be part of the St. Jacobs Flower Program, Option B. The BIA will add you to the maintenance list and a contract will be sent to you to bring to St. Jacobs Country Gardens.

The BIA will connect you to Andria at STJCG who will over your flower needs and sign the seasonal contract. Andria and her team will select your plants for you and will come to your business location to plant your existing pots or containers. STJCG maintains the flowers throughout the growing season free of charge to you, the business owner. Once the plants have been hit by a hard frost, STJCG will come to your site and clean out your containers for you. At this point you can choose to have the flowers replaced with fall annuals or leave your containers empty until your winter/spring plan. Please note, if choosing to replace with fall plants, the maintenance will now be the responsibility of the business owner, as the BIA maintenance program will have ended.

Cost to the business owner for Option B:

Price of the spring flowers and/or pots that you purchase from STJCG. Onsite planting fee and onsite removal fee. As each business has very different needs, the cost of planting/removing plants will be quoted after the consultation.

Butterfly Trail in St. Jacobs

Wild pollinators such as butterflies, bees, and insects are crucial to human survival. The Butterflyway group of St. Jacobs encourages the planting of native wildflowers that support local bees and butterflies in our community and connect with others throughout the province and country.

Insects are in decline and every patch of wildflowers, big and small, can help bring them back! We can all do our part to help our ecosystem.

When we take care of nature, we take care of ourselves, and each other!

If you would like to become one of the many pollinator “Waymakers” in the village please select the option below. Your business will be featured in our Butterfly Trail promotional materials.
